Living in Mumbai may feel expensive for most Indians but according to the Worldwide Cost of Living 2014 index, Mumbai, the city that never sleeps has been declared the world’s cheapest city to reside in.
The index analyses the concept of value for money in a city like how much fuel or how much food can you get for your money. Mumbai has amazingly come first on the list followed at third by New Delhi.
Average fuel costs for 1 litre of petrol in Mumbai is Rs 74.88 whereas the same amount of fuel costs the equivalent of Rs 154.71 in Paris which is the second most expensive city in the world according to the Worldwide Cost of Living 2014 index.
The most expensive city in the world is Singapore out of the 131 cities on the list. Another amazing find by the list is that Asia has the most expensive and the most affordable cities to live in from around the world.
The top 5 most expensive cities in the world after Singapore are Paris, Oslo, Zurich and Sydney.
