Microsoft Windows 10 launched; Windows 9 skipped to show advances in the Operating System

Microsoft has launched their latest Operating System, Windows 10 which is odd considering the logical next step would have been Windows 9 but Microsoft claims that the OS is so advanced that calling it Windows 9 would have not been right so they have named their latest offering as Windows 10.

Windows has always had a bitter sweet deal with almost every alternate Operating System giving users the full value for their money. Right from Windows 95, this has been the trend and considering Windows 7 was such a hit after Vista and Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 or Windows Blue never really caught on or became a raging success, the people have a lot of expectations from Microsoft Windows 10.

The latest Windows OS will feature across platforms from PCs to the Xbox to smartphones and even tablets with the apps being sold from the Windows Store. A big breath of relief is that the ‘Start’ button makes a comeback which was shown the door in Windows 8 but someone finally got their priorities right and has set things right.

Another major change is that a user can customize the size of the tiles which should be interesting as people can set up the size of the tiles according to their relevance or any criteria that appeals to them.

A quick notifications bar for the most used applications especially for chats and e-mails along with with other customizable alerts like weather forecasts and Facebook messages.

The OS will be customized for the user for each separate platform with the key idea remaining that the user interface is as easy to use as possible. Users will be able to change between the touch-focussed mode to the Desktop Mode for optimal usage.
