Earthquake in Nepal 2015: 10 killed in Pokhara

As many as 10 people were killed on Saturday in Nepal's picturesque Pokhara area following a huge earthquake. Police spokesman Kamal Singh Ban told the media that they have received information about the death of 10 people in the Pokhara area.

Kathmandu, April 25: As many as 10 people were killed on Saturday in Nepal’s picturesque Pokhara area following a huge earthquake. Police spokesman Kamal Singh Ban told the media that they have received information about the death of 10 people in the Pokhara area. However, communication with the rural areas in Nepal has been snapped and they are trying to send out forces wherever possible. Home Minister Rajnath Singh said on Saturday the central government has placed its disaster response agencies such as the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) on alert after an earthquake hit northern India. The minister said tremors were felt in north India but there was no preliminary report of damage anywhere in the country.

He expressed grief over the situation in Nepal, adding “my heart goes out to the people of Nepal who have been hit by a massive earthquake. We stand by the people of Nepal in the difficult times”.
