Chhath one of the ancient Hindu festivals is celebrated all round the globe. This age-old festival is dedicated to the Sun God Surya and Chhathi Maiya – Goddess Usha. Chhath Puja is performed just to thank Sun God for saving and also preserving life on Earth. On this day, it seems as Sun God fulfils and grants certain wishes. This festival is been performed on the sixth day of Kartik and it falls in the month of October. Chhath is not an easy task but a troublesome observance which has to be followed by its devotees. The devotees have to fast without water for 36 hours continuously.

Chhath festival and its traditional rituls are been observed for four days which includes various customs like holy bathing, fasting, standing in water for long, offering Prasad and prayer and arghya to the sun. Chhath festival is all about worshipping and bathing and requires one to be pure by heart and give up their luxury routine and follow basic lifestyle for those four days. This festival enhances the relationship between the Sun God and its devotees. Here, we have mentioned the shubh muhurat for the four days which may help you all in such rigorous fast. Monday, October,27th 2014 – Nahay Khay or the day of bath and eat.
Tuesday, October, 28th 2014 – Lohanda and Kharna or the day of fast which ends after sunset after the 36 hour long fast.
Wednesday,October, 29th 2014 – Sandhya Argh known as the evening offering
(New Delhi) Sunrise: 6.29 am Sunset: 17.49, Mumbai Sunrise: 6.36 am Sunset: 6.08 pm, (Patna) sunrise: 5.54 am Sunset: 5.12 pm
Thursday,October, 30th 2014 – Suryodaya Argh and the Paran or breaking of the fast.
(New Delhi) Sunrise: 6.29 am, (Mumbai) Sunrise: 6.36 am (Patna) Sunrise: 5.54 am.
