Kings XI Punjab after losing to Mumbai Indians (their only defeat) mauled Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore to occupy number one spot back on points table while Kolkata Knight Riders at number five have won just three games. KKR if they defeat colossal KXIP will go one up to fourth place. As both teams battle it out in the middle we bring to you five players who can be possible match winners in game number 34.
1. Shakib Al Hassan (Kolkata Knight Riders)
This Bangladeshi all-rounder is very handy with bat as well as ball. In last few games he has been very economical and has managed to scalp wicket every game. Shakib favours cow-corner while batting and hits them big in that direction. He has batted just five times and has a strike rate of 142.10 and in bowling department he has picked six wickets at an economy of 6.08 runs per over.
2. Gautam Gambhir (Kolkata Knight Riders)
Gautam Gambhir after three woeful ducks has done considerably well scoring two back to back half-centuries. Responsibility lies on his shoulders as he is KKR’s main stay. He is touch slow while batting but now then after stroking his way back to form we expect him to speed up things while batting.
3. Glenn Maxwell (Kings XI Punjab)
As the tournament enters second half orange cap holder Maxwell has to live up to expectations and continue to win matches for his side. He has scored four half-centuries and became the first batsman to register three scores in the 90’s in IPL. Maxwell has won four man of the match awards so far in this IPL and will love to add more trophies to his gallery.
4. David Miller (Kings XI Punjab)
On the lines of Maxwell is David Miller who has been scoring consistently too. His strike rate is 168.04 and to go with it has three half-centuries so far. Miller has a variety of strokes to offer and is one of the clean hitters of cricket ball.
5. Dark Horse: Virender Sehwag (Kings XI Punjab)
‘’Nawab of Najafgarh’’ has not scored any fifty yet but he is not out of touch either. Sehwag has given KXIP some quick starts. He has hit 23 4s and five 6s so far at a strike rate of 125.69. Sehwag knows his importance at top and one has a feeling that the typical ‘’Sehwag’’ innings is around the corner.
