Here’s a look at the highest run-getters in the 1999 ICC World Cup
The batting performances in the 1999 World Cup was as much about grit as it was about the swashbuckling 183 by Sourav Ganguly. It was about Steve Waugh’s rescue act against South Africa in the Super Six, it was about Sachin Tendulkar’s emotional 140 against Kenya that he made after returning from his father’s funeral; it was about the countless knocks Lance Klusner played lower down the order for South Africa that defined the tournament. Surprisingly of the top 10 run scorers, Rahul Dravid emerged with the highest strike-rate (85.52). The Indian batting wall also emerged as the highest run-getter in the tournament.
