As kids, Holi had to be our favourite festival, a festival with the pichkari wars, color fights, balloon fights, mouth-watering delicacies and unlimited time to play outside. However, this begins to change as we grow up, especially for girls. We become more concerned about the harmful effects of the colors on our hair, skin, etc. This results in many girls hesitating from celebrating this festival of colors. Here is your solution! Some of the most tried and tested and fool proof beauty tip for this Holi. Follow these top 5 tips and enjoy the best of both worlds!

Hair

It is a known fact that oiling your hair makes you get rid of the rigid colors more easily. However what if you could make your hair stronger at the same time? This is easily done by adding one simple step. Use warmed coconut oil. If you have dandruff adds a few drops of lemon to the oil as well and apply this mixture liberally all over before playing! If you still feel worried, Try and cover your hair with a bandana or cap to decrease contact with colors.

Face

As we grow up, we begin to have huge issues with the colors that stay on your skin, especially our face for about 2-3 days after the festival. There is an easy solution for this! Shield your face with waterproof foundation that will create a barrier for these colors and not cause any kind of effects on the skin. However, if you are not accustomed user of foundation, you can use plain moisturizer, which will affect in a similar way.

Body

The colors used have a tendency to cling t our skin, causing great amount of discomfort. To avoid this, apply mustard oil over all the exposed body parts and let it be absorbed for 20-30 minutes. Use a layer of waterproof sunscreen (above SPF30) after this to help the color slide off.

Nails

One of the most depressing part of holi is the dark stains that they leave behind on your perfectly manicures nails. Apply dark nail paint over your nails to prevent this. Also apply ample amount of Vaseline under the nails and cuticles.

Lips and Eyes

Don’t wear lenses. In fact completely avoid wearing lenses or glasses. But if you cannot do without glasses, just be careful while applying color. Mostly people are interested in applying surprise colors on your face and the edges of your specs might hurt your face. For lips, apply a lip balm generously.
