T R Zeliang

T R Zeliang was born on 21 February, 1952, Mbaupungwa village, Peren. T R Zealing was sworn in as the 10th Chief Minister of Nagaland on 19 July, 2017. He had stepped down as the CM of the northeastern state in February 2017 after a tenure of three years, due to widespread protests over women's reservation in the local body elections. TR Zeliang was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Nagaland again after CM Shurhozelie Liezietsu skipped his show of confidence in the Nagaland Legislative Assembly on 19 July. CM Liezietsu was challenged by the opposition who alleged that he had appointed his son as an advisor to the government and with the status and perks of a cabinet minister. T R Zeliang is a leader of the Nagaland People's Front, and has previously served as a Member of Parliament, representing Nagaland in the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian Parliament. Zeliang earlier succeeded CM Neiphiu Rio and has now succeeded CM Shurhozelie Liezietsu. T R Zeliang will face the floor test on 21 July, 2017. TR Zeliang: All You Need to Know About The New Nagaland Chief Minister.
