Rafael Nadal is a Spanish tennis player and popularly known as Rafa. Born on 3rd June, 1986, Nadal is widely regarded as one of the finest clay court players and is titled 'the King of Clay'. Nadal has won 14 Grand Slam singles titles and is also regarded as one of the greatest players in tennis history. In 2008 Olympics, he won the gold medal in singles. Nadal holds a record 27 titles ATP Tour Masters 1000 and 16 ATP World Tour 500 tournaments. Nadal was named the Laureus World Sportsman of the Year in 2011. Nadal is the seventh player in history and the youngest of four in the Open Era to achieve the Career Grand Slam. Nadal is one of the only two players to have won two Grand Slam titles on three different surfaces, hard court, grass and clay. He is the second player to complete the singles Career Golden Slam.
