The Drinkable Book water filter: Is it the answer to water crisis? Watch video!

Did you know that 3.4 million people die from water-related diseases every year? The bigger problem is that filthy water is still being consumed. Theresa Dankovich, a chemist with a PhD from McGill University partnered with WATER is LIFE and hopes a new invention could help this situation.

A whole new invention has been introduced by them: The Drinkable Book!

With millions lacking access to clean water and dying from water borne disease, can a piece of paper really change the sad situation?

The Drinkable Book‘s pages have been coated with silver nitrate, which filters out water borne disease causing bacteria like e.coli. Each filter has been inscribed with a message. For instance, the first page reads: “The water in your village may contain deadly diseases, but each page of this book is a paper water filter that will make it safe to drink.”

The Drinkable Book is a life-saving device. Each page lasts up to a month and the entire book is capable of providing clean water for around four years. Watch the video below explaining The Drinkable Book.
