Smriti Irani vs Arnab Goswami Full Interview: Union HRD Minister locks horns on 'Frankly Speaking'; Arnab left red-faced on Times Now!

The controversies around the so-called face of ‘bold pseudo-journalism’ Arnab Goswami refuses to douse down even today, weeks after Minister of State of External Affairs, General VK Singh termed a section (directed towards Times Now) as ‘Presstitutes’. Union Minister for Human Resource Development (HRD) Smriti Irani in an interview to Times Now, cornered its editor-in-chief, Goswami in one of the most diligent manner. Not only did the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Irani pummel Goswami into a corner, but answered every question with a FACT! Arnab Goswami, who grilled Rahul Gandhi on the same talk-show last year, failed to leave Smriti Irani tongue-tied even for a minute. For a while, it seemed  like a repeat of the time when senior BJP leader Dr Subramanian Swamy locked horns with the anchor in November last year. The hour-long interview saw many controversies and rumours doing the rounds in socio-political circles being cleared. Talking about the controversies surrounding the new educational policy, Smriti Irani said, “For the first time in 22 years, our government is trying to devise a new education policy and we have asked the people to tell what education they want to have for their children. And when you take away the power from a select few and give it to the entire nation to decide their own destiny, some people are bound to get upset.”

There were several occasions where the ballistic journalist was caught lying and placing wrong facts. “I am not a Political Cinderella. I am not looking for anybody to rescue me out. It is my boss (PM Narendra Modi) who judges me, it is my party who judges me, it is the people of this country who judge me, and so far I am still doing okay,” said Smriti Irani when asked about her abilities and her style of functioning. Controversies pertaining Guru Utsav, (il)legitimate transfers, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s (RSS) involvement among other topics were tabled in the interview and the youngest member in Modi’s cabinet answered it with a straight face!
