Trending Now
The battle between news channels just could not get more creative with NDTV taking a rather indirect potshot at its closest rival, Times Now. In their latest TV commercial, NDTV mocks Times Now’s aggressive journalistic approach. The ad revolves around a hyperactive, sensationalizing anchor, which many feel is an indirect reference to Times Now editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami. This cleverly plotted advertisement highlights the characteristics of a typical Arnab Goswami show – shouting on top of his lungs, making noise with over sensational headlines, demanding answers on behalf of the nation and their love for trending hashtags!
The rivalry within the two media houses is bound to get worse with NDTV taking a perfect dig at Times Now and its main man. Times Now who have garnered eyeballs with their prime time debates, both positive and negatively. While they have been applauded by one section of society for their firm stance by posing direct questions, on the other hand, the Arnab-run channel finds itself being pioneers of yellow journalism in the country.
NDTV in their advertisement tries to bring out the real danger to Indian Television. It is sensationalism, hysteria, wild accusations and tabloid News. They end the commercial by portraying themselves as the trusted and non-tabloid news and a killer tag line – You don’t have to shout to be heard. Trust. Watch the video and wait if there is any comeback in store from Times Now.
