Sesame Street has a new guest and its none other than Oscar actor Lupita Nyong’o. Elmo accompanies his good friend and talks all great things about skin. As Sesame Street is an educational show for kids Lupita talks all about skin and how our skin covers our whole body to protect it. She talks about how skin can also help you touch and feel things.

When Elmo noticed how the Kenyan beauty Lupita’s skin is soft and a “beautiful brown color.” Lupita says, “That’s the thing I love most about skin, Elmo… Skin comes in lots of beautiful shades and colors. Though this video, Lupita is doing her best in a simple yet powerful way to teach kids about acceptance of each and every race.

The last time Lupita Nyong’o had spoken about the black women in the industry was through her moving speech after she won the Academy Award for 12 Years A Slave. She had made a powerful yet moving statement, “That you will feel the validation of your external beauty but also get to the deeper business of being beautiful inside. There is no shade in that beauty.”
