Venus Ebony Starr Williams, better known as Venus Williams, was born on June 17, 1980. She turned to professional tennis on October 31, 1994, and since then there is no turning back. She is one of the greatest players in the history of tennis and also the first American black woman to become the World No.1 during the Open Era.
Venus Williams is one of the finest players and has been credited with bringing about a change in women’s professional tennis. Venus along with her sister Serena Williams, another regular Grand Slam winner, have actively played and won more Olympic gold medals than any other female tennis player.
Other than tennis, Venus has received a degree in Fashion Design from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale and has also pursued a bachelor’s degree in Business through an online programme of Indiana University. She aspires to do an MBA in the near future. She is also an ambitious entrepreneur, being the chief executive officer of her interior design firm V Starr interiors, Florida, USA.
