Bill Gates accepts Mark Zuckerberg’s ALS ice bucket challenge!

The Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) ice bucket challenge has gone viral globally, and the biggest names in tech have caught the bug. Earlier Mark Zuckerberg had challenged Bill Gates to the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge and Gates accepted the challenge and shared his response with this video. The challenge started in honor of Boston College alumnus Pete Frates, and Bill Gates is the latest big name to join the chain challenge to  pour freezing cold water onto his head to raise awareness for Lou Gehrig’s disease.

Bill Gates was nominated by Zuckerberg and Gates responded saying, “I’m glad to give to ALS, it’s a great cause. I want to accept this challenge and do it better than it’s been done.”

Gates proceeded to draw up a design for the perfect ALS Ice Bucket Challenge in a very nerdy way. But before Gates proceeded with the task he challenged Ryan Seacrest, Elon Musk and Chris Anderson of TED.

The challenge started in the United States, where common people and celebrities alike chose between dumping a cooler of ice bucket on their heads or donating $100 to the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) Association. ALS, which is also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease after the after the baseball player whose career ended because of the disease. It is a neurodegenerative disorder similar to Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease. The neurodegenerative nerve disease slowly destroys the brain’s ability to move the body.
