Tommy Haas defeated Novak Djokovic, the World No. 1 (at the time) at Miami to give some spice to the utter boring tournament. Haas went on to the finals where his winning streak was ended by David Ferrer.

Match point between Djokovic and Wawrinka
It may not have been a very exciting match in the fourth round of the Australian Open. The match went on for 5 hours and 2 minutes but the match point in the last 2 minutes made up for it all. Novak Djokovic did eventually defeat Stanislas Wawrinka but Wawrinka will be remembered for his undying spirit and persistence.

Nadal’s dramatic comeback in February
After being away from any major tournament for over 7 months, Nadal was the favourite topic in the media. There was speculation ranging from a ban due to use of performance-enhancing drugs to the severity of his knee injury. Nadal eventually won seven titles and despite the upset at Wimbledon, he is the World number 1 and will be there when the world enter 2014.

Epic battle between Novak Djokovic and Juan Martin Potro
The then World No. 1, Noval Djokovic faced a high octane opponent in the form of Del Potro who made Djokovic earn all the points. Djokovic did win the game but it was in every way a savage attack on the mind and body of both the champion and the challenger.

Djokovic injured his ankle during a Davis Cup match leaving all his fans fearing a career ending wound. To the joy of his fans, Djokovic not only returned to the game but also made his mark at Monte Carlo against Rafael Nadal.
