Indian Premier League is in its final stages and the game between the Chennai Super Kings and the Royal challengers Bangalore is nothing but a mere formality, if there is any importance to this game in regards to the tournament, it would be whether the Super kings will register a win and end up in the top 2 or not. The two teams now clash for the second time this season at RCB’s home ground, M Chinnaswamy. Both teams are contrastingly placed on the points table with CSK in the next round and RCB already eliminated from the tournament.
Chennai Super Kings
X Factor: Dwayne Smith right from the start has adapted to opening slot and since then CSK was not required to tamper with the opening positions like most other teams. He has provided them with good starts right throughout the tournament and also features in the highest scorer list. His form will be very important for the super kings going into the Playoffs.
Watch out for: Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni.
Weak Point: Ishwar Pandey replaced Ashish Nehra after the first game and since then has featured regularly in Playing XI. Pandey who has pace on his side did a good job but as the tournament has progressed he has found it tough to pick wickets. The problem is not just limited to Pandey, but every bowler of the Chennai side, they qualified for the playoffs long back, but have yet not been able to book a place in the top 2.
Royal Challengers Bangalore
X Factor: Yuvraj Singh’s form was worrying factor for RCB before the start of IPL and during the initial games as well, but with two back to back superlative performances he again looks like the Yuvraj of old and looks comfortable against any bowler. He could have taken the Bangalore side to victory against the Knight Riders if he would have stayed till the end as he was looking in blistering form again.
Watch Out for: Ab De Villiers, Yuvraj Singh.
Weak Point: After the initial bit of success in the initial stages of the tournament, the bowlers have completely lost their calm and their performance has been deteriorating day by day as the tournament has progressed. It’s the final game of the season for them and they would be more than keen to finish the season with a win.
