India’s Rajeev Tomar could not add 4th gold medal for the wrestling side but nevertheless won silver medal in Men’s 125 kg Free Style match at the Commonwealth Games 2014. Rajeev Tomar was adjudged second to the Canadian on the basis of decision of technical points. Rajiv Tomar had earlier represented India in the men’s freestyle 120 kg category at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.
Rajeev Tomar had beaten Australia’s M Carney in the semi-finals menacingly with a score of 13-1 and Nigeria’s S Boltic 12-2. So this loss against the Canadian came as a shocker for the Indian wrestling camp. Overall a great day for the Indian wrestling camp led by their super star performer Sushil Kumar. India are currently placed 5th in the medal table with 10 gold, 16 silver and 10 bronze.The Indian wrestlers will have more to cheer about as they did not lose any match and got 4 on 4 medals.
The highest number of medals in the Medal tally are won by the Shooting side with Lajja Gauswami being the latest winner to add bronze medal in the women’s 50m Rifle 3 Positions event.
