Pro Kabaddi League, Jaipur Pink Panthers vs Delhi Dabbangs: Jaipur register impressive win
Jaipur Pink Panthers beat Delhi Dabbangs 41-31 to extend their lead on top of the table.
Jaipur Pink Panthers extended their lead at the top with a thumping 41-31 victory over the Delhi Dabbangs in their third home game at the Sawai Man Singh Indoor Stadium. The home side made a strong comeback after the initial slump in the first half and in the end completed a convincing win over the Dabbangs.
The Dabbangs were charged at the start of the game as they soon were leading by 6 points. But their slump started just before the end of the first half as Jaipur made a remarkable comeback, reducing their trail by just 2 points at the end of the first half. The second half though was all the Pink Panthers as they not only took the first half momentum into the second half, but also completely destroyed the Delhi offence.
The defence of Jaipur was on another level in the second half as there was hardly any raiding points from their side. Such was the power of their performance that they got the Delhi team all out not on one but on three different occasions. Maninder Singh was the star performer for the Jaipur team as he took the challenge of raiding against a motivated Delhi team in the first half rather superbly.
He scored 12 points in the entire match, the highest by some margin. Although the Jaipur defence struggled in the first half getting only three tackle points, they scored 10 points in the second half. This provided the support that Maninder was desperately looking for and the push that the Jaipur team was looking for.
Jaipur eventually won the match 41-31, a result that surprised one and all after what they saw in the first half. The Abhishek Bachchan owned team now comfortably stands in the first position and is all set to play the semi finals in Mumbai, while Delhi is almost out of the semi finals contention.
