Pakistan and Bangladesh are lined up to play Game number eight in Asia Cup 2014. A contest that will see Pakistan looking to seal a place in the final and Bangladesh seeking to put up a good display in front of their victory deprived home crowd.
Bangladesh will see the return of experienced all-rounder Shakib Al Hassan, who was serving a three ODI suspension. Shakib’s inclusion means strengthen middle order and varied bowling option. They are also expected to tinker with their opening combination by playing Imrul Kayees in place of Shamsur Rehman who has a paltry average of 3.50 this tournament.
Already suffering due to Injury of leading pace bowler Mashrafe Mortaza Bangladesh received a setback when injured off spinner Sohag Gazi was ruled out of tournament. Recently discarded All-rounder Mahmudullah has been called up as a replacement and is expected to get a game.
Pakistan will come into the game with a mind-set of improving their skills. Openers Sharjeel Khan and Ahmad Shehzad will see an opportunity to score runs without being under pressure and Misbah Ul Haq who has been run out twice in three matches will want to have a longer stay on the pitch. Mohammad Talha who had an impressive debut against India is fit to play and can bother Bangladeshi batsmen with his pace and unfailing line and length.
Currently Bangladesh won’t be the toughest of opponent to face, but Pakistan will be aware that every day is a new day, taking Bangladesh lightly can prove costly as they are well capable of turning things around.
