Mumbai Indians take on the Kings XI Punjab in a contest where KXIP on top of the points table play against MI who are at the bottom of the points table with no wins. Punjab has had a dream journey till now in IPL 7 with a convincing win in every game while the exact opposite has happened with the defending champions, Mumbai Indians who got close to a win in their last game but lost their 5th match in a row and are yet to win a game in the tournament.
Rohit Sharma and co. have their work cut out for them as the tournament goes past the one-third stage and they really must win more games if not all from this point in the tournament to make it to the next level.
Kings XI Punjab need to keep doing what they have been doing and they’ll have a smooth journey to the knockout stage of IPL 2014 with ease. Glenn Maxwell and David Miller haven’t really contributed much in the last 2 games but they have a chance in the game against Mumbai Indians especially with the likes of Kieron Pollard as the opposition to smash some dents in the big hitters ego.
The defending champions have become the biggest underdogs which no one expected and playing at their homeground, Mumbai will get the advantage of the undying support from the Mumbai fans while they try to piece together a victory to reignite the flair that they showed in last year’s matches.
