Indian captain Suresh Raina will look to wrap up the one day series in Bangladesh with a win in the second One Day International in Dhaka. The Bangladesh Cricket Board were furious with their Indian counterpart for sending a second string Indian side but will have to do serious retrospection if their side concede the series to India today.
The Indian team know that a white-wash in Bangladesh would help them leapfrog Sri Lanka into second position in the ICC rankings. The visitors go into the match without too many problems in the batting department with Robin Utthappa in form of his life . The Karnataka player has scored heavily in both domestic cricket and the IPL and scored a half century in the first oDi. Not bad for a player who a year ago had faded into obscurity with inconsistent form.
The fitness of Mohit Sharma may be the only concern for India and he may be replaced by Vinay Kumar in the line up. Bangladesh have problem a plenty with their bowling line up misfiring time and again. Mashrafe Mortaza is clearly past his best and barring Shakib Al Hasan their aren’t any quality spinner to trouble the opposition .
The Bangladesh batting is slightly better of compared to their bowling but the top order looks shaky with Tamim Iqbal still not in the groove of international cricket. An odd cameos from the late order that got them to a respectable score in the first match may not come in handy all the time . The problem for Bangladesh is also the fading attendance in the crowd and how badly does Bangladesh cricket crave for a moment of magic from its team ,not just for the series but the future of this sport in the country.
