It seems like the ‘Malik Khandaan’ of Pakistan is in a sort of dual trouble, a few days before Eid! The Malik bahu Sania Mirza has been dragged in an unwanted controversy over her loyalty to India, where a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader K. Laxman has called her the ‘daughter-in-law of Pakistan’ after she was made the ambassador of India’s newly formed state Telangana.
On the other hand, former Pakistan cricket captain and Sania’s husband Shoaib Malik was involved in an altercation with West Indies fast bowler Tino Best. If the issue around Sania Mirza wasn’t enough to beset the Malik Khandaan, another controversy involving her hubby Shoaib Malik in a Caribbean Premier League match between St Lucia Zouks and Barbados Tridents happened on Thursday (July 23).
The “daughter-in-law of Pakistan” controversy involving Sania Mirza:
All was going well with the tennis star when the chief minister of Telangana, K Chandrashekhara Rao Laxman appointed Sania Mirza as the ambassador of the newly carved state. Rao called Sania a proud daughter of Hyderabad. The BJP didn’t quite like the felicitation. Things went sour when BJP leader K Laxman alleged Sania’s appointment by the Telangana government was done to woo the minority before the elections of Great Hyderabad Municipal Corporation.
To worsen the situation, Laxman added that Sania Mirza is a non-local and is the “daughter-in-law of Pakistan”.
However, Sania Mirza found support on the social media and she herself came out clearing her stand on the issue saying that she is an Indian, and will be till the end! One of the many tweets in her support read:
as far as i am concerned, sania mirza is a hyderabadi girl who played for india and still does. she has shown indian girls what is possible.

The sour mid-pitch fight between Shoaib Malik and Tino Best:
In the first innings of the CPL match, Barbados Tridents’ Shoaib Malik hit St. Lucia Zouks’ Tino Best for consecutive fours in the 15th over. Things went haywire when Malik tried to flick the next ball but was eventually bowled by the Windies’ quickie Best. The over-excited Best blabbered some not-so-good words directed towards the dismissed Malik in his celebratory run. The taunt didn’t go down well with Malik, as he stopped the pumped-up bowler in his celebrations and return fired with some ‘Hyderabadi Touch’. The duo exchanged some ‘pleasantries’ as the on-field umpires and players intervened. Shoaib Malik found support from his wife Sania Mirza on Twitter:

It seems like all is not well with Shoaib Malik and Sania Mirza before the Jumme Ki Raat this week. The temperatures would be soaring high in the Malik premises tonight, for sure!
