ISL 2014 Live Score Update of Chennaiyin FC vs Kerala Blasters FC Football Match: Chennaiyin edge past Kerala 2-1

Kerala Blasters-386

Full Time: Kerala created a wave of attacks but lacked cutting edge upfront. Chennaiyin weren’t much better and the away side were undone by a wonder goal and should have equalised towards the latter stages. Sachin Tendulkar’s side now has its second defeat and Chennaiyin are on the march, playing catch-up with Kolkata at the top.

90+3′ Kerala create a wonderful attack and Chopra delays his shot and the attack is cleared out. Kerala have many men committed forward. Then Chennai take a counter-attack and nothing comes of it. Full Time. Peeeep! Peeep!

90′ Michael Chopra gets tripped by Nirmal Chettri and it’s a yellow card. Iain Hume is making chance after chance and ever David James came out of his line.

86′ Kerala are getting a wave of attacks and one chance goes begging and then Iain Hume makes a powerful run, nutmeging the Chennai left back to deliver a good ball to Sabeeth, who heads it wide.

84′ Chennai get a promising attack going and the attack is snuffed out because of a lack of forward upfront.

80′ Elano is booked for throwing the ball in disgust at Michael Chopra. Elano did go down easily in a tussle between the two players. Chopra protests with the Brazilian for diving, who gets an unnecessary card.

77′ Excellent attempt by Kerala, who are threatening outside the area and an excellent attempt goes past Bracigliano, who has little chance and its a corner. The corner is taken and there is a man down and a melee breaks out between both teams. Mendy is everywhere now.

73′ Djorjic is replaced by Bruno Pelissery for the home team and Kerala midfield is panicking and played misplaced passes in a dangerous area twice in a row. David James is livid and is barking out instructions regularly.

70′ The screen is trying to get as many visuals off Amitabh Bachchan, Rajinikanth and Sachin Tendulkar in the same frame. Kerala are now dominating possession and the ball is played nicely to Hume, but the attacked is snuffed out.

67′ The short free-kick is kicked away to safety by the Chennaiyin defence and Kerala are now aiming for Michael Chopra now.

64′ Calamity strikes for Chennaiyin immediately after scoring a brilliant goal and the crowd are still buzzing from Mendy’s incredible strike. Mikael Silvestre gives a frantic back-pass to break the attack and Goalie Bracigliano picks up the ball. Short free kick

62′ What a Goal! Elano drifts a corner and the ball bounces back and Bernard Mendy times his bicycle kick to perfection and the ball hits the roof of the net Chennaiyin 2- Kerala 1

58′ As I already mentioned, things are getting feisty and substitute Stephen Pearson makes a nasty challenge on Nirmal Chettri and the Indian defender is down, clutching his leg.

54‘ Michael Chopra comes in for the midfield powerhouse and things are hotting up in Chennai. Elano takes a free kick and its a tame one.

49′ Goal: It’s defender Iain Hume. He just has four goals in his career  so far and an excellent angled corner is met on the head by Hume and the ball bounces off the defender and the ball falls back to Hume, who buries it in the second attempt.

46′ Bernard Mendy has a go from 70 yards out and the ball is wide of the target and David James makes a regulation save. Kerala get a cross in and are also on the attack but Chennai’s Bragicilano snuffs it out.

2nd Half

45′: There were three minutes added on at the end of normal time but no significant action takes place and the referee blows the whistle for half-time. Chennaiyin FC lead thanks to Elano’s goal from the penalty spot. Gurwinder Singh of KBFC is really lucky to be still on the pitch.

39′: Attempt – On-target – Chennaiyin FC: Mendoza goes for goal this time but his shot is saved by James.

38′: Yellow card – Chennaiyin FC: Stiven Mendoza (John Valencia) was sent one on one with David James. The Colombian striker dribbled past the former England shot-stopper and went down without any contact. The referee spots the simulation and books him.

36′: Substitution – Chennaiyin FC: Abhishek Das clearly appears to be suffering with an injury and is replaced by Dhanachandra Singh.

25′: How did that ball not go in and how Kerala Blasters have not equalised? Jhingan plays the ball to Sabeeth and he does well to hold off Silvestre and strike for goal. The ball rolls past Bracigliano but bounces back off the upright and Mendy tries to clear but is

21′: Attempt – Off-target – Chennaiyin FC: The home side are pushing for the second goal as Harmajot Khabra crosses the ball towards Balwant Singh inside the box. The ball is tamely cleared and the ball falls to Elano, who skies his attempt. 13′: GOAL – Elano puts the Marco Materazzi’s side into the lead from the penalty spot. They were awarded a penalty after Abhishek Das was fouled inside the box by Gurwinder Singh. 10′: Attempt – Off-target – Kerala Blasters: Avinabo Das has a go from 30 yards out as no Chennaiyin player closes him down. Bracigliano dives full stretch but doesn’t touch the ball and is lucky to see it fly away from his goal. 1′: Kerala Blasters get us underway but it is the home side are the first to go for goal with Balwant Singh but the first Indian player to score in ISL strikes wide!
