Margao, Nov 21: After the resignation of Aussie assistant coach Arthur Papas on health grounds, the FC Goa support staff has been beefed up with the addition of three Brazilians on request of team manager Zico. Willian Gonsalves is the new physical trainer while Fernando Vannucci is the assistant coach and Miguel Habib is the physiotherapist-cum-assistant coach.
FC Goa will now play three home matches in their desperate bid to reach the semi-finals of the cash-rich league starting with their match against Pune City FC.
“We have five more games to go and we are focusing on the game for tomorrow. Every game is different and has different way of playing and has different philosophies. If we want to win tomorrow, we will have to change the strategy,” Zico said at the pre-match conference.
About the addition of Brazilian support staff, he said, “I always wanted to bring them from the beginning and I asked the president if I could get my own team from Brazil and he agreed. I have one physical trainer and two assistants.”
