As IPL is advancing fast towards the next round, the fight for places in play-offs intensifies. Kings XI Punjab are currently at number two on points table and will search for couple of wins from their remaining games to guarantee a place for themselves while Sunrisers Hyderabad need to back up themselves to win all their next fixtures and eliminate other teams placed on lower half of points table in the process. SRH to start with have an Everest challenge in KXIP waiting for them. As two teams lock horns we take a look at some duels that will inflate the intensity.
Virender Sehwag vs. Dale Steyn
Virender Sehwag after couple of good starts finally managed to convert one into a big knock. His 72 against Kolkata Knight Riders would have relieved not only him but many of his fans as well. Dale Steyn has not been at his express best. Steyn has not consistently taken wickets and has gone for runs too. With Sehwag’s liking for the fast bowlers Steyn will surely look to step up his game and show why he is best in the world.
Glenn Maxwell vs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar
First half of the tournament belonged to Kings XI Punjab and Glenn Maxwell. It is time for both to make sure the hard-work doesn’t go waste. Maxwell who missed in couple of matches needs to be back amongst runs and show it was no flash in the pan when he was smashing bowlers. It won’t be an easy job to face Bhuvneshwar Kumar who has been at his prime best. Bhuvi has been picking wickets (17) and at the same maintained his economy (5.46) as well.
Sandeep Sharma vs. Aaron Finch
This one is a classic battle of opener versus new ball bowler. Sandeep has been in great rhythm and has clutched on to the opportunity provided to him. Aaron Finch who looked good against Mumbai Indians in last game needs to provide his team with a decent start once again in a crucial tie.
