Rajasthan Royals placed third on the points table have won six matches so far and are on the brink of advancing to next round. They now meet Delhi Daredevils who have been insipid this season and are stuck at bottom of the table. Both teams have an impressive line-up but it is RR who have performed as a unit. As two teams play each other we take a look at some battles with in the main battle.
Pravin Tambe vs. JP Duminy
Both these players have done well so far for their respective teams. Pravin Tambe has picked 14 wickets and has been economical. In last game he was taken for cleaners but he is expected to bounce back as Watson will want him to stop JP Duminy who has been leading run scorer for DD and in smashing form lately.
Rajat Bhatia vs. Kevin Pietersen
Rajat Bhatia comes in to bowl mostly in the middle overs and that is when Kevin Pietersen takes guard for DD. Bhatia has picked wickets throughout and has done decent job however his military-medium bowling can lit up KP’s eyes who won’t hesitate going after him.
Shane Watson vs. Imran Tahir
Shane Watson has scored runs but not in bulk, his team will want him to deliver at least one big punching knock before they enter the next round. Imran Tahir on Ahmedabad pitch can be dangerous and with leg-spinners troubling batsmen in IPL, Tahir can flounder Watson early on.
