Mumbai Indians will take on the Sunrisers Hyderabad in a very important game for both the teams in context of the tournament. While Mumbai will be looking to register a win and join the teams that are asserting their contender ship for the fourth spot in the qualifiers, the Sunrisers will be looking to get a win and move on the upper half of the table just 4 points behind the table leaders. Mumbai Indians lost their first game at home after 10 straight victories to the Super Kings while the Sunrisers are on a 2 match winning streak with their bowling attack in great form.
X factor: Mumbai Indians have been looking better since the last 4 games than they did in the initial four games. They seem to be finding their touch in all the three departments. The fighting spirit that they showed in the last game against the Chennai Super kings is something that will help them move forward in the tournament considering how disastrous the start of the tournament was for them.
Watch out for: Lasith Malinga, Rohit Sharma
Lasith Malinga was the star of the Mumbai fight back against the Super Kings. He is one bowler who can change the course of the game single handedly and the Sunrisers would be more wary of him than the entire Mumbai team considering his effectiveness in the dying stages of the game. Rohit Sharma is without a doubt a very effective leader and he knows how to manage his resources. The team has been in their worst run since the second season of the IPL but Rohit as a batsman can be the difference that the Mumbai Indians need to keep a strong hold on their future in their tournament.
Weak Point: The team still hasn’t found anyone to support them at the top and batsmen like Aditya Tare who have been destructive with the have been pushed down the order. Ambati Rayadu’s success with the bat has proved to be more damaging to the teams cause than it has helped them. Mumbai Indians need to find the right batting lineup moving into the game against the strong bowling lineup of the Sunrisers.
X factor: The bowling at the front with Dale Steyn and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar has changed games in favor of the Sunrisers. Bhuvaneshwar Kumar especially has been on a role in this tournament and his pin point accuracy combined with effective use of two faced swing has been doing the trick for the Sunrisers in the tournament so far and they will be looking forward to a similar performance from them in this game as well.
Watch out for: Shikhar Dhawan, Naman Ojha
Both the batsman have looked like finding form recently and both of them can make a huge change to the top heavy batting line up that has been struggling to find some depth. Ojha took the Sunrisers home in the tricky game against the daredevils and the lad can surely strike them big. Dhawan on the other hand can single handedly make or break the game for any team. So his form is going to be important for the Sunrisers.
As mentioned before, the team is very top heavy in the batting department. They struggle to find the stability in the middle order even after they get off to a good start. Also David Warner, even after scoring runs, hasn’t looked comfortable with his batting position and given that the Mumbai Indians bowling lineup is not the weakest in the tournament they sure need to come up with some solution to that problem.
