The first leg match between RR and KKR was an all time classic thriller that had the fans on the edge of the seats for the most part of the game. The performances of the team was so good that even the Super over ended in a draw and Rajasthan Royals only managed to win because of hitting more boundaries in the match. The duel between the teams on Monday will be expected to be as good in terms of entertainment and KKR will be looking to avenge their defeat against the royals.
Rajasthan Royals
X factor: Rajasthan Royals are well placed on the points table and look like qualifying for the eliminators for the second year in a row. The main reason for this performance seems to be the Indian players in the team who have stepped up and shared the responsibility to carry the team towards victory. This has helped to reduce the pressure on the major players in the team. The Indian players will once again be the X factor for the success of the team.
Watch out for: Shane Watson, Pravin Tambe.
Shane Watson has looked in good touch throughout the tournament now. He is among a few batsmen in the team who are comfortable against serious pace and considering the fact that KKR team boasts of someone like Morne Morkel, Watson becomes a key component for the Royals to be successful. Pravin Tambe on the other hand has proved to be the guy with the golden arm. He has picked up wickets at important junctures in every game has always been the go to guy for Watson.
Weak point: Everything seems to be at the right place for the royals. The only problem that can probably arise for them is if they become complacent. If they can keep their head at the right place and stop themselves from over experimenting they can very well become the top team this year.
Kolkata Knight Riders
X Factor: The bowling attack of the knight riders is among the very best. The team will once again be dependent on the bowlers to restrict the opposite team to a small total. The bowlers have rarely disappointed and have delivered every time the captain has asked them to.
Watch out for: Sunil Narine, Robin Uthappa.
Sunil Narine has now been among the very best in the shorter format for a very long period. The mystery of his bowling is still intact and batsman still finds it really tough to face him, whether during the start of the innings or towards the end. Robin Uthappa finally found his previous self and delivered a very good performance in the last match, although they ended up on the losing end.
Weak point: KKR batting ha still not found their mojo. They have yet not been able to find a stable batting line up and it’s about time they brought in Ryan Ten Doeschate in place of Jacques Kallis, who has been very inconsistent with the bat till now. Also Surya Kumar Yadav has been exceptionally good with the bat and he should be given more time to play in the front.
