After bundling out Delhi Daredevils for 115 Kings XI Punjab chased down the target in 13.5 overs with seven wickets in hand.
Virender Sehwag (9) and Glenn Maxwell’s (0) wicket early on may have given DD some hopes of an upset butan admirable stand of 96 runs between Manan Vohra and David Miller for the 3rd wicket saw their hopes being dashed.
After 16-2 in 3.2 overs Manan Vohra and David Miller played responsibly and made sure no more damage is caused. Both batsmen mixed caution with aggression and played some extra-ordinary strokes. Manan Vohra showed that he has an ability to stay on the wicket as he looked in no hurry to score runs. He was well complimented by David Miller who too grabbed the opportunity to spend more time in the middle.
Imran Tahir in 14th over broke the stand as he cleaned up Vohra off a googly. Vohra was dismissed for 47 off 38 balls. During his stay he hit four 4s and two 6s. After his dismissal KXIP needed only four runs to win. Captain George Bailey (1*)and David Miller performed the final rituals to see their side contentedly beat DD by seven wickets. Miller remained unbeaten on 47 off 34 balls, he too hit four 4s and two 6s.
Mohammad Shami (1-26), Jaydev Unadkat (1-3) and Imran Tahir (1-32) were the only bowlers to pick a wicket.
In first half of the match KXIP bowlers bowled smartly and saw DD collapse to 115 in 18.1 overs. Kevin Pietersen was the top scorer for DD with 58 runs and no other batsman even crossed a 15-run individual mark.
Parvinder Awana, Mitchell Johnson, Akshar Patel and Karanveer Singh bagged two wickets each while Rishi Dhawan scalped one wicket.
