Even as a lot has been said about the regular India-Sri Lanka cricket competitions making the contest boring between the two sub-continent nations, it will be the first time since 2009 that the island nation will be touring India (except the 2011 ICC World Cup). The last time the two sides met in India for an ODI match, the home side won the historic finals of the ICC World Cup 2011 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
