Wellington, Feb 16: Hosts New Zealand came back strongly in the second and final Test against India to take a narrow six-run lead at stumps on Day Three. New Zealand ended the day at 252 for five in their second innings in Wellington on February 16, 2014 with McCullum on 114 and Watling on 52. Zaheer Khan took three wickets so far for India.
Bowlers had a tough day with only four wickets falling on the day. Morning session saw three batsmen return to pavilion while second session saw one batsmen leaving the ground.
McCullum played without taking too many risks unlike his usual style. He has also become the only New Zealand player to complete 1,000 Test runs against India.
It was a great fightback from New Zealand in the end as the match heads into the fourth day.
