Wellington, Feb 15: After losing the Auckland Test by a narrow margin of 40 runs, India began their campaign for the second and final cricket Test by skittling out New Zealand for a paltry 192 in the first innings. The Wellington Test saw Ishant Sharma coming up with his career-best haul of six-for. Sharma’s 6/51 justified captain MS Dhoni’s decision to bowl first as the lanky pacer kept the host batsmen on their toes with his testing line and length.
Shikhar Dhawan and Cheteshwar Pujara tackled the New Zealand pacers with confidence. The tour has been a disaster for the Indian team as they lost the five-match One-Day International (ODI) series 4-0. The only saving grace for the team was the third ODI which they managed to tie.
The Indian side has played well in the Test as compared to the ODI series. India will be hoping the team clicks at the right time and return home on a winning note.
