New Zealand face England in the 3rd match of the league round of the ICC world T20 2014 and the game promises to be a thriller just by the looks of it. Both the teams have some outstanding T20 players and have a whole bunch of match winning all-rounder, who can turn the game in the favor of their team.
Here we take a look at the players to watch out for in both the teams.
Brendon McCullum: the kiwi captain is the highest run scorer in T20 cricket, and is known for his attacking batting all round the world. He is also an amazing fielder and is known for his innovative batting against pace as well as spin.
Corey Anderson: Corey Anderson recently scored the fastest hundred in ODI cricket. After that he went on to repeat some thrilling performances against the Indian team as well. He is a great prospect with the bat as well as the ball; and being an all rounder his pace of 140+ while bowling id just another advantage.
James Neesham: another kiwi all rounder who can hit the big ones as well as bowl quickly. Neesham is one of those guys whom any team in the world=d would oblige to include in their team. He is tall, athletic and hits sixes of lengths that even Chris Gayle would be proud of.
Nathan McCullum: given the results of the previous game and the pitches in the tournament so far, the role of a spinner becomes very important. Nathan McCullum is one of those players who can bowl his overs quickly and economically. Also he is a very good prospect with the bat.
Eoin Morgan: he is probably the best finisher in the T20 game today. The English captain is known for his innovative batting techniques and can hit the ball to parts of the ground where fields cannot be set. He is in good form, and if he gets going, it would be a hard day in the field for the kiwi bowlers.
Ben stokes: he showed his worth as an all-rounder in the ashes test. Just like Neesham in the kiwi team, stokes can hit sixes at will and he hits them big, also he can bowl fast which is always a plus to any team. He also adds a whole new dimension to the fielding of the side and would be looking to have a go at the big stage.
Michael Lumb: his record over the past year in T20 cricket has been outstanding and he has been the major force for the English T20 side in this frame of time. Records suggest that he scores more than 20% of the runs in wins for England, and if he gets anywhere close to that number, then the game is as good as over for the kiwis.
Luke Wright: Luke Wright is an amazing batsmen and that alone makes his case to be included in the playing 11. But wait there is more to it, he can bowl as well and you know what? He is an outstanding fielder. Also he is among the most experienced guys when it comes to T20 cricket. With so much to give, how can one over look this guy from making an impact in the game.
So the stage is set and everyone is ready and expecting a thriller of a game. And to be really fair, this game might just prove to be one. Both the teams are almost equal on the paper and have to prove a point when it comes to performing at the bigger tournaments.
