EPL Table & Results: Points Table and Team Standings at 2014-15 Barclays Premier League Week Nine

Match week nine of the Barclays Premier League 2014-15 witnessed some shocking results as reigning champions Manchester City suffer a shocking 2-1 defeat against West Ham United at the Boleyn Ground. David Silva netted the solitary goal for the Citizens after Morgan Amalfitano and Diafra Sakho netted in each half to Sam Allardyce’s men took a shock two-goal lead. At the Stadium of Light, Alexis Sanchez’s double helped Arsenal ended their three-match winless run in the league with a 2-0 victory over Sunderland.

Southampton kept pace at the top of the table and moved to second spot as Sadio Mane’s 33rd minute effort helped Ronald Koeman’s register a 1-0 victory over Stoke City at the St Mary’s stadium. Swansea City snapped their three-match winless run and edged Leicester City 2-0 courtesy of Wilfried Bony’s brace. Liverpool and Hull City played out a goalless draw while Saido Berahino’s injury time penalty earned West Bromwich Ablion a 2-2  draw against Crystal Palace.

The big clash between Manchester United and Chelsea didn’t disappoint as it had all drama we expect, although some decisions were questionable. Didier Drogba put the Blues into the lead but Robin van Persie equalised in injury time from a set-piece after Branislav Ivanovic was sent-off. The result meant that the Blues’ lead on top was cut short to four points.
