India had a decent outing yesterday by winning seven medals which included two prized Gold medals. Shooters Apurvi Chandela (10m air rifle) and Rahi Sanorbat (25m pistol) claimed Gold each to see India occupy fifth spot on medals tally. Boxing: Manoj Kumar who defeated Moshoeshoe M Les in the Men’s Light Welter 64kg boxing round match will now lock horns against Canada’sArthur Biyarslanov in pre-quarters.Sumit Sangwan will face Mohamed Hakimu Fumu of Tanzania.
Athletics: Om Prakash Karhana will be in action today in shot put Group B qualification round.
Hockey: Indian eves comfortably defeated Canada 4-2 in their opening game and now face New Zealand in the preliminary match at Glasgow National Hockey Centre.
Shooting: Shooters have made India proud in the on-going games and expectations are high as Ankur Mittal, Asab Mohammed will be in action in Men’s double trap while in Women’s double trap: Varshan Varman, Shreyasi Singh will be gunning for glory.
Table Tennis: Indian women’s team failed to qualify for the finals after going down 1-3 against Singapore in the semi-finals. They will now have to battle it out against Australia in the bronze medal playoff.
Lawn Bowls: India will take on South Africa in Men’s fours Sec B, Round 1, Match 1 while in Men’s singles Sec B, Round 1, Match 2: Sunil Bahadur will be up against Muhammed Hizlee Abdul Rais of Malaysia.
