Commonwealth Games 2014: Day 3 schedule of Indian players in action at CWG 2014

Abhinav Bindra’s gold winning act was the highlight of Day 2 of the Commonwealth Games 2014 for the Indian teams, as with his medal India now have three gold medals at CWG 14 so far. India managed to win a gold, a silver and a bronze on Day 2 to take their medal tally to 10 and now holds fifth position on points table. India will be hopeful to enhance their position on medals tally as Day 3 gets underway today, here is the schedule of Indians in action on Day 3.

Badminton: After battering Ghana and Ugandaon opening day Indian shutters continued their impressive run as they beat Kenya to top Group B. India will now compete in mixed team quarterfinal.

Hockey: Indian men’s hockey team were off to a good start yesterday and opened their campaign with a 3-1 win over wales. The men’s team now face hosts Scotland in a PoolA match.

Boxing:Boxer Manoj Kumar will be up against M Les Moshoeshoe of Lesotho in men’s 64 kg Round of 32 matchwhile Vijender Singh willpit against Andrew Kometa in men’s 75 kg Round of 32.

Shooting:Apurvi Chandela and Ayonika Paul will be in action in women’s 10m air rifle, Anisa Sayyed and Rahi Sarnobat will compete in women’s 25m pistol. In men’s events Mairaj Ahmed Khan and Baba Bedi will be contesting in skeet while Prakash Nanjappa and Om Prakash in men’s 10m air pistol.

Judo:Avtar Singh will lock horns with Scotland’s Matthew Pursseyin men’s -90 kg, Sahil Pathania against Ghana’s Raymond Normeshie in men’s -100 kg, Parikshit Kumar against Abdul Razak of Malaysia in men’s +100 kg. In women’s events Jina Devi Chongtham will face Canada’s Al Portuondo -78 kg and Rajwinder Kaur against Jodie Myersof England in women’s +78 kg.

Table Tennis: India women’s team will be in action as they take on New Zealand in the quarterfinal.

Lawn Bowls: India will face Northern Ireland in women’s fours.

Cycling Track:In women’s sprint Kezia Vargheese, Mahitha Mohan and Deborah will be in actionwhile Sunita Yanglem will compete in10 km scratch race finals today.Inmen’s 1,000m time trial taking part will beAlan Baby, Amrit Singh, and Amarjit Nagi.
