The FIFA World Cup is over and done with and now it is back to club football with the Barclay’s English Premiere League (EPL 2014-15) beginning from August 16. The football fraternity all over the world will set their eyes on the TV screens supporting their favorite Clubs and rooting for them to take the title.  The Barclay’s English Premiere League is one of the toughest football leagues in the world and features some of the most popular clubs on the planet. With clubs like Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool going at it for the prestigious EPL title, this years battle for the highest prize in England will be the one to watch out for.

The 22nd season of the Premiere League in 2013–14 saw Manchester City winning the title with 86 points and beating West Ham United 2–0. The last season ended on 11 May 2014. Liverpool was looking set for a place in the final but in the last three matches the favourites suffered a loss and a draw to end in second place with 84 points. 2013 champions Manchester United had a disappointing season and ended up seventh while Chelsea were placed third.

Just how competitive the league has become can be gauged from the fact that in 2013–14 season, first place changed hands 25 times, compared to just four times in 2012–13 season. Luis Suárez who placed disciplinary action in FIFA 2014 won the scoring title with 31 goals, and was also named Player of the Season.

The EPL is set to begin on the 16th of August this year and would end on the 24th March, with Manchester United vs Swansea at Old Trafford being the first match of the season.
