After a bad start and slow progress for most of the innings, Afghanistan came from the back with the help of an amazing late innings assault by Azghar Stanikzai and Shenwari Afghanistan and posted a more than respectable total of 254 for the loss of 6 wickets.
Afghanistan were in all sorts of trouble at 90 for 5 when Shenwari walked into bat with Azghar stanikzai, who just like the game with pakistan was scoring at a very slow pace. But after some consolidation and settling down the duo went berzerk after the 40th over. Both the batsmen added 164 runs from 138 deliveries.
Earlier, the Bangladeshi bowlers got off to a good start and sent half the Afghani team in the pavilion by the 27th over. But after that it was all Afghanistan as both Stanikzai and Shenwari made 90 and 80 respectively. The duo added 107 runs of the last ten overs, the best of the Asia cup so far.
