The dismal Test tour of England ends for the Indian side as they slump to another shambolic defeat. The visiting team showed no resilience in the second innings as they meekly folded on 94. The Twitterati as usual were vocal in expressing their displeasure over India for not showing any kind of fight back in the second innings to save the match. Chris Jordan took a four-for and Anderson snared couple of wickets. Stuart Broad and Chris Woakes picked a wicket each. Stuart Binny was the highest scoring batsman as he scored an unbeaten 25. Barring Binny, only Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara managed to reach the double figures as they scored 20 and 11 respectively. This reflects India’s horrible run on their first-leg of the tour to England.

There were calls made even before the series started that, Will the Indian bowlers pick up 20 wickets? As the series turned out, the onus of Indian batsmen performing well, fall flat as the batsmen failed to spend a considerable team on the crease. Barring some good individuals performances, India failed to perform as a collective unit and that remains the biggest cause of India’s defeat.
