Abhinav Bindra added one more gold medal to the India’s pool by comprehensively winning the finals of men’s 10m air rifle by 3.2 points margin at the Commonwealth Games 2014. This is ace shooter’s first individual gold medal in Commonwealth Games, however he has bagged many gold medals in the major events individually and in pairs. As he brought laurels to his country we go down the memory lane and recollect his triumph in winning gold over the years.

2002 Commonwealth Games

The XVII Commonwealth Games were held in Manchester, England. Abhinav Bindra in the Air Rifle event teamed up with Sameer Ambekar and won gold in the pairs event. He himself won silver in the individual event.

2006 ISSF World Shooting Championship

Abhinav Bindra became the first Indian to clinch gold in the International Shooting Sport Federation’s World Shooting Championship. The championship was held in Zagreb, Croatia and Bindra won gold medal in men’s 10m air rifle with a score of 699.1.

2006 Commonwealth Games

The XVIII Commonwealth Games were held in Melbourne, Australia. This time Abhinav Bindra paired up with Gagan Narang to bring home the gold medal in men’s 10m air rifle (pairs). Bindra himself had to settle with Bronze as Gagan Narang won the gold in men’s 10m air rifle singles event.

2008 Olympics

At 2008 Beijing Olympics Abhinav Bindra created the history by winning the first gold medal in any individual category for India. Bindra claimed gold in men’s 10m Air Rifle by earning a total of 700.5 points.

2010 Commonwealth Games

In the last edition of commonwealth Games in New Delhi Abhinav Bindra once again teamed up with Gagan Narang to win the gold in men’s 10m air rifle (pairs). Abhinav Bindra finished with silver while Gagan Narang claimed another gold medal in men’s 10m air rifle singles event.

2012 Asian Shooting Championship

At 12th Asian Shooting Championships held in Doha Qatar Abhinav Bindra with a score of 701.1 won the Gold medal in the men’s 10-metre Air rifle event.
