The awards season has begun in Bollywood and so has the flow of fashion, trends and style. The 20th Annual Life OK Screen Awards saw a fusion of talent and style. The award ceremony saw stars galore who came in dressed fashionably to attend the function.
The B-town glam girls set the red carpet on fire with their impeccable sense of style.
The reigning box office queen with back to back hits sizzled on the red carpet in her black and golden combination. She was wearing an Alexander McQueen ensemble showing off her svelte curves perfectly. But the collar act has been repeated way too may times.
Sonakshi Sinha came in an Amit GT outfit. Everything about her look was nice. The colour of her dress, her hairdo and makeup seemed to go well with each other. Thumbs up for carrying the sheer dress so graciously, Sonakshi!
She wore a Nikhil Thampi golden-black combination saree to show off her slender figure. We would have liked Kalki to wear it better without the waistband, which made her resemble a warrior princess.
Bipasha Basu chose to go traditional with Manish Malhotra’s navy blue anarkali dress. The huge neckpiece complemented well with her overall desi look.
Huma was seen wearing a deep red Nikhil Thampi dress to walk the red carpet. She looked a bit of a downer with the choice of colour, which camouflaged with the red carpet.
‘If you got it, flaunt it’ – this saying goes well with Vaani Kapoor’s appearance. In her shimmering silvery floor length gown she managed to grab a few eyeballs.
Tanisha Mukherjee, Tanuja and Kajol
Back from the Bigg Boss 7 house, Tanisha arrived to attend the awards show along with her mother Tanuja and sister Kajol. She wore a red satin gown while Kajol wore a peach dress by Shantanu & Nikhil. Tanuja came in a bright yellow saree to collect her Best Actress (Marathi) award.
Chitrangda went international when she stepped in wearing a Dior white dress with a hint of black. A better hairstyle – either a bun or fishtail – would have done justice to her appearance. But we totally like the innovation in the empire waist design!
Neha Dhupia chose to keep it simple by wearing Ranna Gill’s light peach floor length chiffon dress. She looked too much of a plain Jane for her standards.
What was she thinking while choosing a dress for attending the show? She stepped in wearing an Amritraj Bora, which was more of a see-through. This less than amusing sheer dress was a disappointment.
Last seen for her Himmatwala act, this South siren looked beautiful in a Carmen Marc Valvo gown. We would love to see her experiment more with colours the next time. The dash of pink took our eyes off from her rather monotonous look.
Who is your inspiration? Please do not say Vidya Balan. Divya Dutta came in a pink and golden anarkali dress. Looking like a Christmas stage prop, she really needs a stylist.
Another South import, Kaajal Aggarwal was seen in a Vizyon. She looked different if not pretty in a black embroidered dress, which gave a peek-a-boo feel. Her red lipstick to contrast the black was another cliché.
Aditi Rao Hyadri
Last seen in Boss, this Hyderabadi chick wore the in-trend navy blue dress. She looked reasonably easy on the eye. But it’s high time she shed the Chinese look with cropped bang and eye makeup.
At the Screen Awards this year, some actresses looked pretty, some not-so-pretty. What do you think of their style?
