Satyamev Jayate 2: Aamir Khan calls for people friendly police force in the country

Aamir Khan

After advocating reforms on tackling rape cases in the country in the first episode of Season 2 of Satyamev Jayate, actor-director and social activist Aamir Khan in the second episode of his popular TV show took up the case of police reforms in the country. Continuing his campaign vote for change, the episode gave a 360 perspective of the police force and what ails the force and how the party in power misuses them.

The focus of the episode was the entry level and first point of contact with the public – the police constable. Khan took up their case and the adverse conditions they work in. He also highlighted the plight of the constables who constitute 92 per cent of the police force and how they have limited promotion opportunities.

Prakash Singh’s a retired police official filed a PIL in the Supreme Court and in its verdict in 2006 the apex court passed an order for police reforms to be implemented all over India. However, the response from the state governments has been unsatisfactory with one elected representative saying what is the point of coming to power when we cannot even transfer police officials.

Khan also spoke to serving and retired police officials. A serving IPS office from Uttarakhand was frank enough to share how the police manages its expenses after exhausting their monthly quota of fuel and how they are unable to play their electricity bill. Another senior official shared that the money constables extorts from common man actually goes all the way up. He also spoke on the organised collection drive. A serving senior Karnataka police official highlighted the four entry points in the police force in India and how it affects the system.

Former Kerala DGP Jacob Punnoose shared how he reformed the state police force with the implementation of the Janmaithri scheme in 2008. He also discussed the poor record of states in registering complaints.

The show also saw Khan speaking to a British police official and explain how they have just one entry point – as constable. Even the top police official enters the force as a constable! Will the strong IPS lobby allow this? Will a police constable in future end up as Director General Police of a state? Will our politicians bring about the change in the archaic police system?

anything can happen if they the department will be independent without the pupet of politicians.

Our representation in assmebly is not up to the marks for which we are only responsible.

We should take the responsibility and vote only the sincere candidates and also help the police force to become friendly with us, as they are also humans.

During festival time , each and every person of the MANDALS OR SOCIETY should help the police administration for monitoring the crowds.

Regards to act , our maharashtra government should take lead to form this and react on this act urgently. Also the new candidates should take oath to implement these acts and make state government police adminsitration strong.

In UK everyone has studied up to GCSE to a fairly good standard (which is equivalent to School Final/Matriculation) of India.
So anyone joining the British Police force can rise to the top. In India the education of a constable may not be that good so they have little chance of promotion.

Thank you very much Amir Ji for showing the positive and creative sides of IPS officers who are so supportive for their men. All should model them. This will create self respect among our Constables and they will definitely friends to common men, like ‘Jana Maithri’ in Kerala State.

Another Non Co-Operation movement, boycott this election. Do Not VOTE any PARTY at this election…Until we get responsible, sensible and public caring NETA.
Observing current political instability in our country and states, do we think that we can elect a true public caring politician? Would you VOTE this time?

I dont know how to make understand indian people..sirf ek baat ka jawab
do muje abroad mein koi high or low caste india mein hai..kisne
create ki apne aap se pucho..abroad mein jobs category ke bases nhi
milti hai or na percentage ke bases pr or na hi addmission percentages
pr hoti hai..sbko right hai educate hone ka..aisa india mein kyun nhi
hai..there are lots of schools n colleges why not in india..apni soch
badlo ek baar sbko ek hi nazar se dekho jaise abroad mein hai high or
low hum apne behaivour n character se bante hai caste se nhi..sbko
educate hone ka chance do sbko jobs do..bahut si jobs hum create kr
sakte hai yeh govt ko krna chahiye agr woh corrupt na ho..kyun yeh
condition rakhte ho ki jobs 50% or 60% ko milegi…zaruri nhi hai jiske
marks kam hai uske paas knowledge kam hai ya woh ache se work nhi kr
sakta hai or jiske marks high hai woh intelligent hai…yeh thinking hi
galat hai jo koi bhi ho kbi kbi aisi situation paida hoti hai ki hum
marks nhi le pate hai jyda bcoz kbi bimar ho jana financial problems
hoti stress koi bhi reason ho sakte hai…or ek baat jitni
jobs ki zarurat 70% wale ko hoti hai unti hi zarurat 50% wale ko bhi
hoti hai…poor log bhi kbi 50% le lete hai toh kbi 70%..kuch log kehte
hai jobs jo poor hai unko milni chahiye i agree with u…but yeh batao
jo log sc certificate fake bana ke jobs le ke baithe hai jo real mein
brahmin hai..jin logo ne hi yeh khel racha hai high or low ka…unke
liye kitna mushkil hoga ek poor ka fake certificate bana lena or jobs le
lena..i apke bhale ke liye keh rahi indian people aap sb bhul jayo or
chodo iss castesim ko..kuch nhi rakha hai sivaye stress ke or apna
dimaag kharab krne ke..yeh socho aisa kya kre ki jayda se jayda jobs
create kr sake govt ki…ek example deti hun..aap sbne satyamev jayate2
ka episodes dekha hoga police wala..24hour police wale jobs krte hai
family ko time nhi de pate hai..ab agr hum jis chownki pr 10 logo ko
police ki jobs pr 24 hour rakh rahe hai wohi hum agr 20 rakh de or shift
12 hour kr de isse sbko govt jobs bhi mil jayegi or police wale bhi
apni family ko time de sakegi..plz solution hamare paas hi hai…bas
    soch badlne ki zarurat hai..
