Alia Bhatt suffers wardrobe malfunction?: 5 morphed images of celebrities that caused quite a stir

Photoshop and celebrities often meet post-production to make them look better than the mere mortals that they are but often some perverted minds indulge in misusing their talent. The power to alter images to make them look like a celebrity suffered a wardrobe malfunction goes viral either in the form of edited images or dead ringers posing as celebrities with their videos. Mostly these attempts are soon brought down to their place but some of these takes on maligning celebrities do spread around quite a bit before they die out.

WhatsApp is the perfect platform for a rumour to spread like wildfire. Even though Facebook and Twitter have been popular, WhatsApp seems to be the popular choice for rumours to spread when it comes to images that have been altered. Top celebrities when it comes to Bollywood at least are the women whose pictures are altered in such a way that it seems that they are revealing more than they would like to or should be revealing.

Katrina Kaif

Katrina Kaif almost initiated legal action against a few website that were showing morphed images of her and her sister, Isabella. The websites clearly resorted to morphing images to lure horny users on to their websites which is done by a lot of websites to get eyeballs but morphing images was a step too far and on the wrong side of the law. Katrina’s mother expressed her sadness on the issue and said that just because nothing has been done against such malpractices doesn’t mean that no step will ever be taken. Anushka Sharma

The 2011 controversy involving Anushka Sharma had pretty decent results. The morphed image looked convincing to the naked eye but you could spot the mistakes and catch the edits upon closer inspection. There were rumours that Anushka Sharma could don a bikini in Ladies vs Ricky Bahl but due to lack of confirmation of the news or any photographs at all to back the claim, some photo editing experts took to their software to create the image. Sonakshi Sinha

Maxim had done it again but this time in the December 2010 edition with Sonakshi Sinha. The Dabanng actress had her faced pasted on the body of a model wearing a white bikini on the cover page. The image from which the edited photo was created was from a publicity still for Dabanng. It was odd because it seemed that the bikini body shown on the cover of the magazine and the figure Sonakshi Sinha had in the film didn’t match at all. Celina Jaitley

The actress lodged a complaint against a website in 2009. The site had photos of the actress from an older photo shoot and edited the images. One image had ‘Slide To Unlock’ written over her undergarments. The pictures were taken off the website but it is unknown if the perpetrators were caught and made to scrub their website or they ditched it and are on the run. Vidya Balan

The Dirty Picture actress has been the victim of cyber fraud herself with ‘dirty’ pictures circulating the internet. The publication in question is reported to be from a Maxim edition. Vidya Balan was obviously taken aback and sad that a well-known publication would morph images. The face from an older photo shoot was taken and pasted on the body of another female model wearing a black bikini and the image was used in their 2011 Annual Edition. Alia Bhatt is the latest to enter the infamous club of Bollywood celebrities who have been the victims of photo editing terrorists. She had a photo clicked recently that showed her wearing a short pink dress. She was clicked from several angles by many photographers, but one image of her back was edited to seem like she was wearing a translucent dress revealing her posterior. It has been proved that the image was altered but not before the internet had a cheap laugh.
