Rajasthan government today held functions to mark the launching of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Jan Dhan Yojana.

Vasundhara Raje launches Jan Dhan Yojna in Rajasthan

Jaipur/Jodhpur, Aug 28: Rajasthan government today held functions to mark the launching of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Jan Dhan yojana with Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje launching the scheme at a state level function in Jaipur. Addressing the function at an auditorium, Raje said the scheme will empower people in true sense and pave way for a strong financial inclusion. “Both the Jan Dhan yojna of the Centre and the state government’s Bhamashah yojna, introduced on this independence day, will empower women and help us achieving the aim of financial inclusion,” she said.

Union Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers Nihal Chand Meghwal also addressed the function in Jodhpur whereas Rajasthan Rural Development and Panchayti Raj Minister Gulab Chand Kataria launched the scheme in Udaipur. The Union MoS said the scheme would bring those people who were away from banking service, into main stream. Meanwhile, Kataria distributed kits to few persons whose new accounts were opened.

Similar functions were organised in Bikaner and other cities also. Bikaner MP Arjun Meghwal said in a function that the scheme has several features and advantages and will help in bringing transparency in transaction of cash benefits under various government schemes for people.
