Narendra Modi-led government issues statement over the Amethi Food Park issue which was raised by Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi.

Narendra Modi government hits back at Congress over Amethi Food Park issue

Amidst the ongoing uproar in the Lok Sabha, the Narendra Modi-led government issued a statement over the Amethi Food Park issue which was raised by Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi. Union Cabinet Minister of Food Processing Harsimrat Kaur Badal said in the lower house, “The Amethi Food Park promoted had flouted the rules.” (Also read: Rahul Gandhi launches fresh attack at Narendra Modi in Lok Sabha)

Earlier Rahul Gandhi attacked at Narendra Modi-government in the Lok Sabha accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party to be involved in ‘revenge politics’. He said that the government cancelled Food Park in Amethi playing vendetta politics. “The government is playing politics of revenge. Why did the government cancel the food park in Amethi?” Rahul Gandhi asked the Modi government.

Responding to the allegations of Rahul Gandhi, Badal said, “The food park should have been completed in two years but the promoter was given a notice in 2012 as work had not begun. Moreover the petroleum ministry had refused to provide subsidised gas.”
