Do Gays really need your approval? Hear this guy’s near-perfect rant video

If you are one of the people who have had a problem with watching rainbow filter profile pictures on your Facebook timeline, wait to hear what this guy has to say in his video ‘Why do you hate gay people?’ on YouTube. In response to the mixed reactions right after the US Supreme Court legalized the same-sex marriages in the country, he basically tries to make a point – Do Gays really need your (straight ones) approval?

In one of the most defining moments of recent times, US Supreme Court legalized the same-sex marriages in the United States. It was a quite a victorious and joyous occasion for everyone fighting for the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) rights. In the honour of LGBT community and the ruling, Facebook initiated a rainbow filter profile picture. It was huge success including India, where a same-sex marriage is punishable crime. There were several reactions drawn from the Indian audiences on social media. Firstly, one who changed their profile picture to rainbow, secondly who laughed about the hue and cry and thirdly, the ones who are still confused about homosexuality and supporting homosexual.

This guy who is basically ranting makes a lot of sense. Why do the straight ones feel they are the ones who will grant approval to the gays? Do they really need it? Yes, at the moment, they seem to be in minority but are they not equal just like the majority. We do not seek their approval to be straight and hence we should also banish the attitude of granting them anything (sympathy, support, superiority) to them. Because remember, we all are equal.
