Jodha Akbar is an Indian historical drama which is aired from Monday to Friday on Zee TV. It is an epic drama about a 16th century story of the political wedding of understanding between the Mughal emperor Akbar and a Rajput princess Jodha Bai. The show centers on how their marriage brings about love between the two that alters the fate of the country.
The community-based group has been protesting against Jodha Akbar for ‘distorting facts’ related to the history of Rajputs in the serial. The members of the group are angry with Ekta’s “non-materialising promises” of taking her controversial serial off the air.
Lokendra Singh Kalvi, chief of the Karni Sena said in a press conference, “We’ve been continuously requesting them to make certain changes in the serial. Despite several promises by Ekta Kapoor, no changes have been made. So we have decided to not let any of Balaji’s films be released in the state.”
