RS Pura sector, July 20 : The locals in Gharna village in the Jammu and Kashmir‘s R.S. Pura sector are petrified following yet another ceasefire violation by the Pakistani troops. ”The firing started at around 2 am in the morning. A poor farmer’s cattle were killed in the firing,” said Surender Choudhay, a local resident in Gharna village.
He said the government should look into their problems as they are very much troubled by these firing incidents. ”Nobody from the government’s side has contacted us and listened to our problems. Media is helping but there is no help from the government’s side. The administration is sleeping here,” Choudhary added. Locals also said that there has been damage to property due to mortar firing by the Pakistani troops.
Reportedly, heavy firing took place at border villages including Gharna, Sai, Kaku De Kothey and Pindi village s. Due to landing of some mortar shells in the residential areas some animals died and some were left injured as well. Pakistan had targeted an Indian post in the same area on July 16 as well wherein an Indian soldier died and three others were injured.
Earlier this week, the residents living along Indo-Pak Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir had complained of facing hardships due to cross border shelling.
