Mumbai Indians vs Delhi Daredevils IPL 2015 Match 39 Preview: MI Indians look to continue good run of form
Delhi have failed miserably with the bat except the performances of JP Duminy and Shreyas Iyer.
Mumbai Indians will take on the Delhi Daredevils in their 10 match of the season at their home ground, Wankhede Stadium. Both these teams have won 4 matches so far this season and are in the contention for the final two spots in the play offs. With Mumbai losing their first game against Delhi this season, this will be a great opportunity for them to avenge that defeat and also put in a strong contention and make their position stronger in the race for the play-offs. Delhi on the other hand, are looking in trouble here as the recent form of the Mumbai Indians has been excellent and it’s not easy to beat them at home.
Mumbai looks to be the favorites going into this game. They have finally found a stable opening pair and the middle order has also started to deliver on a regular basis now. This has been another remarkable comeback from the Mumbai Indians just like last season, achieving 4 victories in their last 5 games after suffering consecutive losses to start the season. With Lendl Simmons, Parthiv Patel, Rohit Sharma and Kieron Pollard looking in prime touch along with the recent discovery of form for Ambati Rayadu, their batting looks very strong and stable now.
The bowling too has struck all the right notes with the inclusion of Mitchell McCleneghan in the side. Lasith Malinga too has found his old destructive form and Mumbai has been coasting along with able support from Harbhajan Singh and Jagadeesh Suchith. A win here will make the Mumbai Indians a major contender for the play offs as they would have to win only 2 of their remaining 4 games. Delhi on the other hand has not had much to be proud off in recent matches. They have failed miserably with the bat except for the performances of JP Duminy and Shreyas Iyer. Their bowling too hasn’t shown much promise other than Nathan Courter Nile and Imran Tahir. Although the addition of Zaheer khan has added some fire to the attack, they still lack that X-Factor. They had a good start to the season but after losing the last two games in miserable fashion, their confidence looks dented again.
With the tournament reaching its business end, each and every match from here onwards will change permutations and combinations for each and every team in the league. This is going to be one of the most exciting finishes to the league stage that the IPL has ever seen.
